Scheduling Monthly
Every year after final exams, students make a resolution that they will start studying from the very first day of their class. They set very high expectations for themselves. The start usually goes well but after just a month they fail to meet their goals. The question is why?
Because they set unrealistic goals or fail to establish a routine that will enable them to achieve academic success, they use their high energy on tasks that are not important. They fail to prioritize well.
To achieve academic success, manage time on monthly, weekly and daily basis because if you do not manage well, the end of year might take you with a surprise. Given below are some tips to schedule your time. You’ll notice that one of the keys to effectively managing your study time is to start with the big picture and then work down to the detail. (Monthly followed by weekly and then finally daily)
Scheduling Monthly:
Before starting each term, prepare a calendar for the entire term. You can create your own format or you can use a regular yearly calendar and make notes on it. It is easy to complete a task when you can see the deadline rather than just keeping deadline in mind.
So whatever the format you choose it must have the most important tasks marked with red, tasks like;
- Tests/ exams with dates
- Important activities e.g. big game/ a tournament/ a play etc)
- Assignments with deadlines
- Out of school activities
