Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (PCMD) is pleased to announce M. Phil. / Ph. D. program (2015) in Molecular Medicine. It aims towards research studies and training in Molecular and Cellular Biology, Molecular Genetics, Molecular Pharmacology, Neuro-Pharmacology, Pathophysiology, Biopharmaceuties, Computational Drug Discovery, Structural Biology, Stem Cell Research, Molecular Pathology, Drug Discovery and Biochemistry, in order to understand the Molecular Mechanisms of disease processes, and discovery of new drug entities against common diseases and development of drugs against them.
Course work in Molecular Medicine is based on lectures, seminars and tutorials. Assignments for tutorials include essays, data handling exercises, computer-based studies and preparation of short talks. Research seminars are conducted regularly where faculty or visiting scientists explain recent developments in the field of molecular medicine. Developing laboratory skills is the key objective of the first year degree program. In the subsequent years, the students will be working on focused research projects. The program involves a mixture of course-work, research studies, delivery of scientific presentations, project writing, successful completion of subject GRE and other institutional requirements.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
MSc. or four years B.S. degree in the disciplines of Biochemistry / Genetics / Microbiology / Biotechnology / Medical Technology / Biomedical Engineering / Physiology, or equivalent professional degrees such as M.B.B.S. / B. S. / B. Pharm. and Pharm. D. The candidates with M.B.B.S. or equivalent qualification will be required to undertake 15 Credit Hours Courses (300-600 Level) in addition to 24-Credit Hours M. Phil. Courses (700 Level).
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Admission prospectus and KARACHI UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE TEST FORM can be downloaded from the websites (www.uok.edu.pk / www.iccs.edu) and a complete application form along with required documents & processing fee of Rs. 2,500/- (Pay Order/Demand Draft) in favor of University of Karachi can be submitted to the Academic Coordination Office, (Room No. WO-2) latest by MONDAY, APRIL 20, 2015. Incomplete and Late Applications will not be entertained.
List of eligible candidates for KARACHI UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE TEST will be displayed on website of the university and institutional notice boards on TUESDAY, MAY 05, 2015.
Eligible candidates for KARACHI UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE TEST will be required to collect Admit Cards during MAY 06, 2015 to MAY 08, 2015 from the Academic Coordination Office (Room No. WO-2).
The ENTRANCE TEST will be held on SUNDAY, MAY 17, 2015 at 10:00 am at ICCBS and all the eligible candidates will have to report at 9:30 am, along with Admit Card and Original CNIC. For further information/details, please visit our websites ( www.uok.edu.pk / www.iccs.edu ).
List of candidates who passed KARACHI UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE TEST will be announced on websites on FRIDAY MAY 22, 2015.
No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the employer routed through proper channel in case of in-service candidates is required to be attached with the admission form.
