Democracy, education to help Muslims overcome challenges: Abdul Qadir

ISLAMABAD – Minister for States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) Abdul Qadir Baloch on Sunday said that Muslim World could address its challenges through vibrant democracy, education, technology and unity in their ranks.
International powers have divided Muslim world in different sects for their petty gains, he stated while addressing the launching ceremony of a book “Turmoil in Muslim World” written by Maj Gen Shaukat Iqbal. The event was also attended by Senator Lt. Gen (R) Abdul Qayyum, Lt. Gen (R) Asad Durrani, Lt. Gen (R) Amjad and dozens of other participants belonging to different walks of life.The book contains nine chapters, which cover issues of all 58 Muslims countries discussing their potentials, resources, glimpses of Muslims’ glorious past, overview of African, European and American Muslim countries, Arab spring, rise and fall of Muslims, challenges and way forward for Muslim world and role of Pakistan.
The author has also stressed upon creation of Organization of Islamic Ummah (OIU) and formation of knowledge and education based societies and restructuring of economies of Muslim countries for betterment of whole Muslim World.
The Minister appreciated the comprehensive analysis work by Maj Gen Shaukat Iqbal, saying that the book will provide guidelines for future research.
He said that Muslim unity and characters of their leaders were the main reason for their glorious time in the history.
The western world has divided Muslim world in different sects by hatching conspiracies and promoting extremism, he added.
