Fulbright application deadline extended

The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) has extended the application deadline for the 2016 Fulbright Masters and PhD programme till June 1, 2015.
A statement on Friday said this extension would allow
more applicants from all regions and backgrounds in Pakistan to apply for the scholarship.
It said the USEFP strongly encourages current university faculty to apply for the PhD programme, and the applicants who were unsuccessful previously could also be enrolled. The extension also means that the candidates who had difficulty in registering for the GRE exam could have the time to do so.
More than 150 scholarships will be awarded to study at the best universities in USA.
In addition to the 183 students, who have departed for the US in the fall of 2015, 390 students from Pakistan are currently studying in the US on Fulbright awards.
Each year, the U.S. government sends more than 700 students to academic exchang programmes and 500 professionals to shorter work related programmes in the United States.
The 2016 Fulbright competition is open to people from all
provinces and areas of Pakistan.
Women, minorities and people with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.
Energy, water, health, education and agriculture are priority disciplines, though the opportunity is open to other fields.
More information about this programme, including application form, can be found at www.usefpakistan.org.
