Ghalib Conference in Punjab Institute of Language

Lahore:April 08: Ghalib introduced a new style in literature which is still fresh and fragrant and it will be praised for many centuries to come.
This was commented by Dr Abdul Qadeer, the world renowned scientist, in his presidential address at the inaugural day of the third two-day International Ghalib Conference at a local hotel on Tuesday.
He paid tributes to the Ghalib Memorial Trust, the organiser of the conference, for the promotion of literature and culture.
Tasleem Ahmed Tasawur hosted the inaugural ceremony from the Ghalib Memorial Trust. A Ghalib Number was also launched from the trust and later a painting was presented to Dr Abdul Qadeer.
Meanwhile, delegates included Dr Anees-ur-Rehman, Shamshad Ahmed Khan, Dr Mehdi Hassan and Hur Yameem spoke on the topic of poetry on the inaugural session of the conference. A Musahira was held in the second session of the conference in which Dr Imrana Mushtaq Mani, Khalid Sharif, Naveed Sarosh, Ahmed Rais, Dr Javed Munzar, Nahid Qasmi, Dr Akhtar Shumar, Wajid Ameer and Dr Khaklid Iqbal presented their poetry.
An academic session of the conference will be held on Thursday at 10 am at the Punjab Institute of Language, Art and Culture, Ferozepur Road.
