EXAM POSING GREAT STRESS TO KIDS…WHAT TO WATCH OUT!

September 10, 2013

Life’s demand and difficulties trigger stress.  Our level of reaction varies physically, mentally, and emotionally.  In children, stress maybe caused by any positive or negative event that is outside their normal routine and often manifests in the form of physical symptoms and/or behavioral changes.

As parents, how do we beat stress affecting the learning of our children?  Here are few tips to parents like me.

1)    Parents should be observant to signs of stress.  We should know what triggers stress to our kids.  One of the common reasons for kids stress is an upcoming exam.  Most kids whether they are prepared or not will always feel anxious to the day of exam.  For them, an exam is like a court deciding whether they go to jail or not, always posing fear in their young hearts.

You may find your kids irritable as the exam comes near.  Some kids couldn’t even sleep well and couldn’t eat properly.  Their appetite is suppressed.  You can notice their worries into even small things and negative thoughts may also be versed out.  Complaints of discomforts such as headache or stomach pains are also common, either meant to avoid taking the exam or finding a reason for failing the exam due to the negativism.

Which so ever of these is manifested by your kids, make sure you find a way to prevent it from worst results— that is physical and/or mental problems in the long run.
