
Effective studying habits
To get good grades and learn better in school students must develop positive attitude and effective studying habits.
It is never too late to develop great study habits. If you’re starting a new school year, or you just want to improve your grades and school performance; here are some habits you might want to adapt.
Some Effective Studying Habits:
- Always review the lesson plan prior to the class. This way you will be prepared for the lesson before time.
- Do your research on the topic that is going to be taught in the class. It will also give out good impression on the teacher.
- Make sure to take notes. Write down all the important points the teacher emphasizes during the lecture.
- Make sure you always have text books of the subjects with you.
- Reading before the class will give you an idea of what doesn’t make sense and you can ask questions from the teacher during the class.
- Highlight important points during lectures. Don’t make notes on what’s already in the book, it wastes your time and attention
- Remember always listen to your teacher carefully, because sometimes teacher gives out hints that what is going to come in the test. For instance; if teacher repeated something thrice, it is probably coming in the test.
- Before sleeping check out all your notes, assignments and projects.
- Don’t let social activities take priority before studying. If you have to be social, make sure it is educational as well; like getting together for study group etc.
- Plan your break, make schedule, and prioritize your work.
- Morning exercise and midnight walks are healthy stress relievers. And improves memory as well.
- If you are not the person to concentrate, try to lighten your load of classes
