Photography is an art, to capture the right moment at the perfectly right time. Although it is difficult to say what the perfect photograph is, Moments are sometimes pre- planned or sometimes they just happen spontaneously.
There are many types of photography, the easiest type is nature & landscape photography where nature itself does the magic of creating the perfect environment for the moment to be captured, and then there is human portrait or child photography where you can easily communicate with the subject. But the most complicated type is “WILD LIFE PHOTOGRAPHY”.
Wild life photography needs a lot patience and finely tuned approach. Photographers that specialize in wild life photography usually spend plenty of hours in the wilderness in every kind of atmosphere, battling through harsh weather conditions just to capture the perfect moment of animals in their natural habitat. Mostly they are captured for magazines, journals or exhibitions.
It is the most difficult type to capture because the subject is elusive and the technique of capturing them requires precision. And one of the main problems in capturing wild animals, is that majority of the species don’t like to be close to humans.
Photographer usually spends hours hiding under bushes or other hidden places to get their perfect shot.
To capture such images without the subject being aware of your presence, professional photographers invest in their kit, by purchasing high end cameras with high continuous shooting rates and impressive pixel count.
Usually the best lenses for wild life photography are expensive, but if intended to pursue wildlife photography they are definitely worth it.
To get closer to a distant subject, telephoto lens is required. To capture birds, camera lens with focal length of 150mm to 200mm is ideal but to capture a deer or grizzly bears, you’re going to need more reach, a lens with a focal length of 300mm or greater.
MACRO PHOTOGRAPHY:
In wild life photography, Macro Photography is also very popular. Macro photography is that type of photography in which pictures are shot at a closer range to showcase the sharp details of the subject. The most interesting subjects of macro photography are bugs, leaves, flowers, insects, textures, patterns etc.
Wildlife photography gone wrong:
Sometimes environment or the subject doesn’t quiet co-operate with the photographer, so keeping in mind of every possible encounter from the wild animals, photographer’s should be prepared for the worst consequences also.
