How do you utilize your of Out-of-School Time?
Don’t you feel that you’re wasting precious time doing nothing but watching TV that has no role in developing good traits or habits in you? Don’t you know your own important to let time pass by without taking benefit from it? We read so many quotes about the importance of time, why do you feel these people give THAT much importance to time? Quotes like:
“Lost time is never found again.” –Benjamin Franklin
“Time is what we want most, but what we use worst.” –William Penn
These people must have realized the importance of time the hard way to know how important it is to use time in such a way that you get maximum benefit. It’s time that you take responsibility of your own actions. You don’t have to wait for someone to come and lecture you on the importance of time, you MUST know that.
Extracurricular activities no doubt are fun but what we don’t realize is that they are also a best utilization of free time. For example, who do you think is better utilizing his/her time, a kid who is playing soccer or a kid who is playing video games? Obviously, a kid who is playing soccer is better utilizing his out-of-school time because outdoor and team sports cultivate many positive traits in you than sitting in front of a TV and playing video games that promote violence and hatred. A kid who has joined the college magazine is bound to be busier in healthy activities than kid who just attends school and comes home with nothing but homework.
It is the most prominent trait of a successful person that he realizes the importance of time and uses his time for productive reasons. The focus of your activities should be a learning outcome that would benefit you in your personal, academic as well as social life. Extracurricular activities promote the concept of utility of time into the lives of students at an early stage. Many kids waste the out-of-school time and realize it years later. Isn’t it better that we try to learn from the experience of others and take hold of our own destiny?
Every kid should focus on his/her life and see where they’re wasting time doing unproductive stuff like watching television, going out every other day for no reason etc and how often do you work for a reason, how often do you volunteer to help at an old house or you write an essay for your school magazine or you play an outdoor game with your peers?
