Importance of Technology in Education – 21st Century
The world of 21st century that we live in today is evolving every second. To equip our children to compete, survive and understand it, we need to educate them accordingly.
Long gone is the time for long lectures and a teacher dominating class room. To make our educational system more student centered, and to involve them in every process of their studies, the need of the hour is to equip ourselves with technology based learning.
While many schools have adopted new technology to improve their educational standards, there is a lack of staff education to integrate it with the curriculum in the right manner. It makes the tabs and interactive white boards just for show.
The mere presence of technology around us is not the answer for educational progress, but it is there to aid, support and benefit us in achieving it.
While planning more of technology based lessons, we must remember our goal is to help the child feel in control of his owl learning as much as possible. To make him more involved and to make him realize that the world is just a few finger tips away, we must assist him as much as possible.
Where adults take many days to learn a new technology, children today open there eyes in front of a camera and smile for a photograph. They unlock tabs and smart phones as soon as they are able to hold them and download apps of their choice in a blink. Imagine where this generation could go and what they can achieve if they show the same skills in their education. And imagine where the education and skills can take this generation who is one step ahead of us when it comes to technology.
The reason why it becomes important to integrate technology in our daily based learning is because we are trying to educate the children of the 21st century. We are teaching them in the age where all the information is just a click away from them and all we have to do is teach them the right way how to. We and our future generations are blessed to be a part of the culture which empowers the students and provides them a million opportunities at a very small age. It gives us geniuses like Arfa Kareem, it gives us world record smashing students like Hamza Sohail, its gives us Ali Moin Nawazish and it gives us young professionals like Ubaidullah (Balochistan) who brought gold medal beating 45 countries from ICPO.
And we need more of them. We need more students who are well educated to bring back respect, recognition and pride to Pakistan. We need students to be taught in way that will lead them to nothing but achievement and success. And we need our system to support it.
Our system should be the one that competes with worldwide standards and which gives our students every opportunity that is there to be offered. We owe it to them and we owe it to ourselves.
Help you school today to enter the 21st century and own it!
