Home Environment for Children
A child’s home is his first institution of learning and developing a sound personality. It has a major impact on how a child develops and grows in a certain way and develops characteristics of personality. Therefore, it is important that the environment surrounding the child should be healthy, friendly and motivating so he becomes a beneficial member of society.
Uncongenial and unfriendly home environment can have adverse effects on a child’s development. If a child has a negative, stressful and depressed home environment, he would be more likely to suffer from mental and psychological problems. Resistance from family, unhealthy parental relationships and communication gap between parents and children all contribute to effect a child’s personality and can result into problematic child.
Therefore it is very important for parents to provide their children friendly and stress free environment. They should communicate with children and give them liberty to speak up their problems with them. They can be their best friends and facilitators for all of their problems only if a child feels secure and comfortable in his home.
