We all try to leave behind all the luxuries imaginable for our beloved kids. A healthy bank balance, cars, big houses, but none of us is foreseeing that are we leaving behind a planet that can be lived on?

Today, we are cutting all the trees to make exotic villas and classic furniture, to leave behind a place worth living. We are building factories after factories with no precautionary measures, that are facilitating our current life style but filling the air day by day with poisonous gasses, and we are polluting our water on national and domestic level by filling it with garbage.

We are leaving behind a world full of luxuries. But a world lacking all the basic needs, We are leaving behind a world for our generations where there is no air to breathe, no clean water to drink and no sanitary land to live on. In our ignorance, we are leaving behind a big mess!

But every one of us can choose to change that. Every one of us can choose to make a difference. We can change ourselves, change how we are raising our children and change their future. Now, is the need stronger more than ever to make your child environment/eco-friendly. Start taking baby steps, and fulfill your responsibility.

How can you help?

1. Educate your child about environment and why it’s important. Explain that we can no longer live if we don’t keep our environment healthy.

2. Trees are vital–  One large tree provides oxygen to 60 small children. And your child is one of them. Enlighten your child why plucking leaves out of trees is a bad idea. And how these brown and green shade providers help us live. Encourage them to plant trees.

3. Keeping our land and water clean. Can your child drink water that is mud colored and stinks too? You are blessed if your child doesn’t have to, because 750 million people do not have access to clean water. Credit goes to the rest. Inform your child why it’s important to keep our land and water clean. Why garbage goes only in the dustbin and why we should not throw liter in sea/rivers or other water bodies.Last, but not the least.

4. Protect your resources. It is important that your child knows the worth of luxuries he enjoys. And why he should opt to recycle so that they are not wasted. Nothing is everlasting, and same is true for our resources. Recycling gives us a chance to produce paper, bags, accessories and a whole lot of items all over again. Take that chance. And chances are, if all of us take these small steps, we can make a change bigger than we ever imagined. We can leave behind “a safe place” for our loved ones.
