Let us see how well informed you are about your child’s health. Your child may not necessarily look ill, but is doesn’t mean your child is healthy. Following are a few important tips your child can adopt for a healthy lifestyle.
Food for life:
What your child should eat may not be what your child likes to eat. His favorite snack may not be enough nutritious. Try to offer varieties. Don’t let your love for your child make him eat more, leading to obesity at a very young age, and most importantly; be a role model for your kids. As kids love to do what they see, eat healthy yourself and on time.
Get moving:
“those who think they have no time for exercise will sooner or later have to find time for illness” – Edward Stanley
We know those video-games, computers and mobile phones are keeping them inside. Your child needs to get out and play. Our muscles and joints needs to be get moving or they will become rusty just as an unused bike. Encourage your children to engage themselves in some form of activity every day. It can be fun too. Bikes, swimming, running or even a simple walk to school gives your body a workout.
Sleep away:
Getting a good night’s sleep is like giving your body a tiny vacation. Children need good sound sleep to ensure proper body and mind development. Missed naps and not getting the right amount of sleep can lead to consequences that may last a lifetime. Poor performance at school may be nothing but lack of sleep.
Meet and greet:
Social life of your child is as important for a healthy mind and body as food, proper sleep and exercise. If your child is not making enough friends, then you should be seriously concerned. Help your child meet new people, make friends and go out to play with them. It helps to improve their communication skills and makes them emotionally healthy and most importantly, it will make them happy.
