Customs and Traditions

Culture and traditions of the people of a country are representative of their faith, history, language and environment of that country. The cultural patterns speak of a country’s rich cultural heritage and traditions. Traditions have several key elements. It involves ceremonial rituals or ritualistic behavior. Secondly it involves people’s collective and social nature. They actually stir emotion within individuals to have a sense of self awareness. They determine the self-identity of people living in that society. They vary with time but the roots and essence remain the same. They are important to preserve the value and power of certain culture.

Pakistani culture is influenced by India, Middle East and Central Asia.it varies greatly in all provinces of Pakistan. Islam has played a crucial role in shaping cultural life and has provided an array for molding lives according to the approved ways.  Majority of the Pakistani people are followers of Islam and Islamic traditions yet at the same time some local and foreign customs and traditions are also becoming a part of our daily lives and a part of Pakistani culture. Their customs are followed and practiced in different regions of our country. People of Pakistan usually respect the traditions of other minorities and do not interfere in their festivals.

Protecting our own culture and traditions helps to keep the values of our ancestors and give us inner satisfaction and relief. Whenever societies deviate from their culture they usually face loss. It is best to keep the essence of a culture but can reinvent it to serve a greater good.
