MS Cultural Anthropology – UMT
Course Name: MS Cultural Anthropology
Overview:
The need for a comparative study of cultures and a holistic understanding of human diversity has never been as acute as in the present world. We are living in a period of unprecedented change in which myriad human groups and cultures strive to survive the onslaught of technology and globalization through creative processes of acculturation and confrontation. The solution to innumerable problems faced by societies and countries across the world today lies in an unbiased understanding of the “other”. This comparative lens, exclusive to Anthropology, allows for a greater understanding of other groups and cultures and promotes appreciation for a multitude of perspectives. The discipline of Anthropology has never been more relevant.
