B.Sc. Metallurgical and Materials Engineering-UET Lahore
Course overview: The department was established in the year 1965. Ever since, its inception this department has been one of the centers of excellence in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering in Pakistan. Over the years, the department has developed expertise in the areas of Process Metallurgy, Fabrication Science and Practice, Physical Metallurgy, Mechanical behavior of materials, Foundry Engineering, Nano-materials, Ceramic and Composite Science, Corrosion Science and Engineering and Powder Metallurgy.
The department has well equipped laboratories with sophisticated machines like Scanning Electron Microscopy, X-ray Diffract meter, Thermal Analyzers, Universal Testing Machine, Creep and Fatigue Testing machines, Induction Melting Unit, Presses, Hy-M-Pulse Magnetometer, Environmental chamber, Powder Coating Unit and Optical Microscopes equipped with image analysis. Over vision is to promote the faculty and technical team of the department, teaching, research and consultancy services to the industries in the field of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering.
The faculty members actively maintain interaction with the industries which avail their advisory services in inspection and testing of a range of materials, quality alloy development, foundry technology, corrosion protection, heat treatment, fabrication science and technology, metallographic studies on material failure and extraction of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

Requirements:
General Eligibility Requirements for B.Sc (Hons) or B.Sc. Engineering Degree programs:
An applicant for admission to B.Sc. Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (Hons.) must fulfill the following eligibility requirements:-

He should have obtained at least 60% marks in F.Sc. / ICS/ DAE/ B.Sc. / B.Tech. (Pass) Examination (excluding Sports and Hafiz-e-Quran marks)

He should have appeared in the entry test arranged by this University for that particular Academic Session in which he seeks admission.

He should have at least 60% adjusted admission marks determined as per clause 3 of the prospectus.

He should be a bona fide resident of the area from where he seeks admission
-
He should meet standards of physique and eye sight laid down in the medical certificate.

He should have passed the Intermediate from a Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education of Pakistan or an equivalent examination recognized by the University.

As soon as the process of selection is complete, the merit list will be notified showing the percentage aggregate marks of the applicants admitted in different disciplines against different categories.

EQUIVALENT EXAMINATIONS
The University recognizes the following examinations as equivalent to the Intermediate (Pre-Engineering) examination with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry of the Pakistani Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education:

Intermediate (Pre-Engineering) Examination of the Board of Intermediate &Secondary Education, Azad Kashmir.

Cambridge Overseas Higher School Certificate with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

British General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

F.Sc. (Pre-Medical) with Mathematics as an additional subject.

American High School Graduation Diploma (12th Grade) or equivalent.

Equivalence of Certificates Up to Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC)I Intermediate Level
The determination of equivalence and issuance of equivalent marks certificate up to HSSC level for certificates other than those issued by Pakistan’s Boards is the jurisdiction of the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) as per decision of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Such applicants are required to attach an equivalence certificate showing marks with the application for admission issued by the IBCC. The following are the addresses of the IBCC offices:
