Course Overview: The Department of Physics is the oldest Science Department imparting instructions at the Postgraduate level, here at GCU. We take pride in the contributions of Ravian Physicists towards the prosperity and national security of Pakistan. The Department’s old boys occupy positions of eminence at national organizations of science and technology. Our scientists are on top at prestigious organizations like the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) and the Dr. A.Q. Khan Research Laboratories. Many are serving abroad. Our alumni have bagged 45 Civil Awards, which is the highest number of Civil Awards won by physicists from any educational or research institution in Pakistan. Keeping in view this history of excellence, we hope that the new graduates will keep up the traditions of the department by outshining other institutions in the years to come.

Requirements:
1. Admission Regulations
- Admission will be strictly on merit which shall be determined on the basis of overall marks and Interview.
- The applicant (Male/Female) applying for admission to BA/BSc (Hons) 4-years programme must have passed his/her HSSC with at least 50% Marks.
- The candidates for admission to B/BSc (Flans) will be interviewed on the dates notified. And the candidates who remain absent will have no claim to admission. Irrespective of the marks they have obtained in the HSSC Examination.
- Candidates who select English Literature and Political Science as their major subject are required to pass a written test conducted by the departments In order to qualify for admission. Merit List shall be prepared on the basis of the candidates’ score in the written test of and interview.
- For BSc (Hons) in Physics /Mathematics /Statistics/BS (CS), the candidate must have passed his/her HSSC Examination with Mathematics from any Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education securing at least 50% marks.
- Diploma holders DAE/B.Com are not eligible to apply for admission to BA/BSc 1-Years (lions) Programme except BSc (Hons) in Electronics offered by department of Physics, and B.Com (Hons) offered by department of Economics.
- Candidate who passed! Corn will be eligible for admission to BA/BSc 4-Years (lions) programmer in only those subjects which are allowed by the concerned department.
How to apply: Admissions for Undergraduate degree programs usually opened once in a year during Fall Semester i.e. August / September.

Applications for admission to various Undergraduate degree programs are invited through an advertisement.
Admission is made purely on merit basis from amongst the applicants. -
In case the admission form is downloaded from university website (www.gcu.edu.pk), it should be accompanied with a Bank Draft / Pay Order
