Bachelors of Electrical Engineering – University of South Asia – Lahore

April 8, 2015

Course name: Bachelors of Electrical Engineering

Course overview:

Electrical Engineering program are grounded in scientific, mathematical, and technical knowledge through coursework that keeps pace with current relevant technologies; they develop the ability to analyze, synthesize, and design engineering systems through their immersion in the problem-based activities of this research university; and, by means of general education courses, they enhance their ability to communicate and acquire an understanding and appreciation for other areas of human intellectual achievement.

Electrical Engineers design, develop and maintain electrical control systems and components to required specifications, focusing on economy, safety, reliability, quality and sustainability. They design and manufacture electrical equipment for use across many sectors, including:

  • the building industry and services, including lighting, heating and ventilation
  • transportation and transport networks
  • manufacturing and construction
  • production and distribution of power

Electrical engineering has an enormous impact on society and has been the fastest growing field in engineering over the past fifty years. Our students are able to solve many future challenges in the world. Just think of the tumultuous rise of computers, the introduction of mobile telephony and key medical innovations, like the MRI scanner. The study of electrical engineering focuses on the applications of electricity and magnetism, which include renewable energy systems, telecommunication, robotics, automotive, medical equipment and computers. The field embraces both analog and digital systems in which hardware and software are equally important.

No. of semesters: 8 semesters

Requirements:

  1. Intermediate or ICS with a minimum of 50% overall marks or A level (with 3 Cs). However, for Engineering, Medical and Pharmacy programs students must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Math/Bio with a minimum of 60% marks.
