Course overview:
On the completion of this program the students will be able to:

Explain nature of special education, its history, and types of exceptional children, its related terms and service.

State nature of human development and developmental perspective of disabilities with special reference to gender, family and culture.

Make adaption in curriculum in accordance with special educational needs of special children.
-
Assess children with special needs in the area of academic, vocational skills, intelligence, perception and motor abilities.
-
Create understanding about counselling, consultancy and therapies needed for special children.
-
Provide opportunities to understand social anthropological, psychological and development perspective to approach intervention of children with special needs.
-
Enhance knowledge about ethical and moral obligation and intervention strategies keeping in view cultural and ethical values.
-
Acquaint learner with personal and professional skills necessary to act as an agent of change/role model in understanding special children.
Requirements:
Entry Requirements
The Entry requirements of B.Ed program:

Bachelor Degree in school subjects (at least 2 division)
Age Limit
-
For admission to a Bachelor Degree 24 years on the last date of submission of admission application.

For admission on the basis of a Master Degree 26 years on the last date of submission of admission application.
-
In real hardship cases ,the Vice Chancellor may grant relaxation for five years in age on the recommendation of Head of the concerned institution.
-
No age limit for admission in the evening classes.
Merit Calculation
-
1/4 of the marks obtained in SSC (out of 850) + 1/4 of the marks obtained in HSSC (out of 1100) + the marks obtained in BA/BSC (out of 800) minus year wise deduction after B.A / BSc examination (5 marks per year) = Total
-
20 marks will be added to the merit score in case of applicant has Masters degree as well.

Marks in Bachelors will be multiplied with 0.85 in case of semester system.
