Overview:
M. Phil & Ph. D in Islamic Thought and Civilization programs aim to strengthen research and teaching about Islam, including almost all courses of Islamic Studies being taught by the universities at M. Phil and Ph. D level, giving specific attention to Islamic thought and civilization in contemporary settings. The programs seek to provide a unique and multifaceted approach to the study of Muslim thought and civilization by placing the study of Islam within a framework of the religious and civilizational study, allowing for a wider analytical and comparative perspective.

Requirements
Applicants will be assessed on the following criteria: M. Phil Islamic Thought & Civilization or in Islamic Studies (Students having M. Phil in Islamic studies from other universities may be asked to take pre-requisite courses in Islamic & Western Thought and Civilization) or equivalent degree from an HEC recognized university with a minimum CGPA of 3.00/4.00 Interview performance Arabic and English Language Proficiency Test GRE Subject There are no age, nationality and gender restrictions.

Doctoral Dissertation
Each participant must write dissertation in the major areas of specialization consisting of original research of high impact. In addition to the internal dissertation committee, the dissertation will also be examined by two eminent international experts in the related field.
