Course overview:

  • Enhance Lerner awareness about English Literature, both British and American.
  • Enlighten students about the modern trends in language & literature.
  • Equip the students with research paradigms;
  • Inculcate research oriented approach to teaching of English Language & Literature.
  • Provide hands on experience of English Language teaching through internship.
  • Equip students with theory and practice to undertake future educational challenges.
  • Become professionally competent and reflective teachers.

     

    Requirements:

    Entry Requirements

  • BA minimum 2nd Division
  • At least 45% marks in English compulsory

    Age Limit

  • For a candidate seeking admission to a degree program on the basis of BA/BSc, the age limit shall be 24 years.
  • In real hardship cases, the Vice Chancellor may grant relaxation for five years in age on the recommendation of Head of the concerned institution..
  • No age limit for admission in the evening classes.

    Merit Calculation

  • ¼ Marks in SSC + ¼ Marks in HSSC + Marks obtained in BA /BSc minus year-wise deduction of 5 marks after last examination.
  • At least 45% marks in English compulsory subject
  • The admission will be made with the following preference:
  • 1st Preference: The applicant who studied English Literature at BA level.
  • 2nd Preference: The applicant who studied English Compulsory subject (200 marks) at BA level
  • 3rd Preference: The applicant who studied English Compulsory subject (100 marks) at BSc level
