Course overview:
The Postgraduate office is continuously striving to improve the standard of postgraduate teaching and research quality so that it is at par with the best universities in the west. As a result, the department of Geological Engineering has successfully started its Master degree programe in two disciplines i.e. M.Sc. (Geological Engineering) and M.Sc. (Geological Sciences with specialization in Petroleum Geology). This degree program is designed for students who have the aptitude for higher education to serve the geotechnical and petroleum industries. The curriculum of this master degree program is designed after consulting both industries and academics keeping in view the local needs and international trends.
No. of semesters: 2(theory) +2(research).
Requirements:
Only those candidates will be eligible for admission who have passed their undergraduate (16 years equivalent) degree by securing a minimum of 60% marks or a CGPA of 3.00 out of a maximum of 4.00. CGPAs on other scales will be translated accordingly.
Course duration: 2 years
How to apply:

Application on prescribed form with requisite documents, complete in all respects should be submitted to the respective department, University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore on or before the due date.

The admission of foreign students will be made on the basis of the academic record of the candidate and the assessment of his scholarship made by the Board of Postgraduate Studies of the Department concerned. The Board of Postgraduate Studies may ask the candidate to appear for test and interview.
TEST AND INTERVIEW FOR ADMISSION
For admission to programs where GAT/GRE General Test is not required a written admission test shall be held by the department concerned on the fixed date and interviews shall be held immediately after the test. For all other programs interviews shall be held by the respective departments on specified dates. Separate interview shall be held for each specialization where applicable. The candidate must qualify the test and interview.
