Literacy Rate and Level in a Family
Family has a great influence on the development of a child. Factors like family size, socioeconomic structure, broken or disputed families, literate or illiterate parents all have significant impacts on how a child will be brought up and developed into a functional societal member.
One of the most important factors is the literacy rate and level of a family. There is a significant difference in the behavior and personality of children belonging to educated families and those who have illiterate or no educational family background.
Educated families, especially educated parents have a different perspective of seeing life. They are usually broad minded and adapt easily to change in educational trends. They give liberty to their children and encourage them to be creative and explore other dimensions of life.
However uneducated family backgrounds have restricted perception. Illiterate parents are not aware of necessary changes in society and educational trends. They stick to the stereotype thinking and usually limit their children’s ability by restraining their talents. They are unable to think out of the box. They fail to accept change and prefer their children to learn in old traditional ways rather than adapting to the changing situations.
