Why is Vaccination Important For Your Kids?

Most parents are overprotective of their children, often because of which they keep making excuses for not getting their new born baby vaccinated, hence exposing their kids to a multitude of diseases. Some parents are ignorant of the hazards of or simply are not educated enough to know the importance of getting their child vaccinated. Others might belong to areas where either they do not have the necessary resources for it or the tradition of the region goes against getting the child any vaccination.

Getting a new born baby injected with a vaccine is a hard but necessary task, mainly because of his/her immune system being increasingly susceptible to a wide variety of diseases at that stage. This increased susceptibility may render the child unfit for leading a normal and healthy life and  sometimes even leads to the child’s death. In order to reduce these possibilities and to make the child immune to several diseases permanently, it is essential to get the child vaccinated.

There are different kinds of vaccines that the kids must be injected with, starting with the vaccine for Hepatitis B at the time of birth of the baby followed with doses at specific intervals. Vaccines for Rotavirus, Diptheria, Tetanus and Acellular pertussis, PCV, Influenza, Inactivated Poliovirus, measles, mumps, Varicella, Hepatitis A are given to the child according to a particular schedule.

Because of the carelessness in this area, diseases such as polio and mumps which were believed to be almost eliminated once are coming back, causing significant health as well as social issues for the children. It is the responsibility of every parent to get their kids vaccinated and to educate and encourage other parents to do so as well in order to prevent several illnesses from manifesting in our future generations, keeping the children healthy and happy.
