
Emotional Maladjustment
Emotional maladjustment is a condition that exhibits one or more than one of the following conditions over a long period of time and that significantly affects the child’s educational performances:
- Inability to learn that cannot be explained by sensory, intellectual or health factors.
- Inability to build or maintain interpersonal relationships with teachers and peers.
- Incongruous types of behavior or state of mind under normal situations.
- Usually having a pervasive mood of unhappiness or depression.
- An inclination to develop physical symptoms or fears associated with personal or school problems.
This problem includes schizophrenia. The term does include children who are socially mal-adjusted, unless it is proved that they have an emotional disturbance.
