Introduction to NUST

NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF SCIENEC AND TECHNOLOGY, known by the Acronym NUST is said to be the most progressive and innovative university for the new generation of Pakistan.

Mission:
To develop NUST as a comprehensive, research-led university with focus on Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Introduction:
It is situated in the capital city of Pakistan, Islamabad. The aim of the university is to build a modern excellence for research and development in the field of science and technology. Structure of NUST revolves around the fields of engineering, information technology (IT), medical and management sciences.

NUST is a university which is fully committed to the provision of intellectual leadership, development of technology in the country and to be a beacon of light for the country’s progress in science and technology.

NUST was established in 1991 by the government of Pakistan. It was granted the Charter in 1993.The University is based on decentralized multi-campus concept. NUST has also developed international linkages to ensure two-way flow of knowledge. It has internationally Accredited Curriculum.

University and industry linkages play a major role in the development of a country. NUST has encouraged industry, both public and private sectors, to collaborate with the research. These industry linkages also include student internships and faculty interactions.

During a very short time, NUST has achieved recognition at both National and International levels. NUST has attained various achievement awards within a decade of its existence. In 2014 the university stood at 129th rank in Asian universities in the field of engineering and technology as ranked by QS World ranking
