FAISALABAD: On Monday, Faisalabad’s divisional headquarters hospital opened up a kidney center. Rana Sanaullah, former law minister, inaugurated the center, which is a 100-bed facility and contains 25 dialysis machines. For purchasing the equipment for the kidney center, Rs30 million had been spent and for the completion of the remaining work, Rs8 million would soon be released, Sanaullah said addressing the ceremony.
He added that for the purchase of laser technology, Rs50 million had been budgeted and also that the center would be equipped with lithotripsy machines.
The center, according to the DCO Noorul Amin Mengal, would be turned into a kidney institute and soon a kidney transplant facility will be available at the center. There had been many difficulties for the district govt. while making the center operational.
10 dialysis machines had opened and the remaining would be made functional in a few days according to Medical Superintendent Abdul Rauf.
